eZ430-RF2500 UART
Started by ●November 14, 2007
Has anyone tried using the UART for communication with a PC through the USB
interface? How does that work? With the ez430-F2013 module, the UART is not
really a UART, the debugger grabs the data and displays it in the debugger
terminal window. I'm assuming that the RF2500 UART relies on a USB to
serial type of Windows driver to pass the serial data into a PC. I wonder why
TI decided to make this function available for the RF module, but not for the
regular MCU module. It would be nice to have a serial port available which
didn't require a debugging session.

What I found works is use an EZ-430 programmer (blue) with the RF2500 devise
(red)plugged into it. Use the center 4 pins to match up with the 4 pin socket
on the ez430 kit.

yes as long as you can use the ez430 (blue) kit to program with vista, then you
can use the usb portion to program the RF2500 (red).
