I am looking for software on a PC to read HP 64000 5 1/4" floppy disks.
If not, does the Hp 64000 have software to ZMODEM to a PC ??
Thanks

Sorry, neither one exists.
There was another format, whose name escapes me now, used by HP Basic
systems, that the 64K could write and which was readable by a program on
the PC. I think I still have that program, somewhere.
If you still have a working 64000 crock, you can use RS-232 to move
things to a PC. There was an HP-designed transfer program that could
reliably send files to a Unix workstation. I have the source files. I
did some work on porting them to DOS about 10 years ago, and never
finished them. They could probably be ported to Linux very easily. I may
actually try that myself.
If you post your real email address, obfuscated in some way, I'll look
for what I have and send it to you.

Thank for your response.

I currently do not have a HP 64K available.
The sources you have will need to be typed in and compiled somehow and
run on the HP, right ??
I have inherited this project, (new job) and have never used the HP 64K.
Thank again

What I have is for the other end of the link. It will allow a Unix (and
maybe Linux) workstation to communicate reliably with a 64000, over
RS-232. This includes single files as well as batches. In batch mode you
create a simple file that contains the 64000 file names followed by the
Unix/Linux file names and they all get transferred with one command.
If you don't have a 64000 then the files won't do you much good. I used
to have a lot of 64000 HW, but I gave most of it away to a consultant.
It still works as far as I know. I'll send you his name and email
address, along with the sources. He might be able to help, for a
reasonable price.

We wrote a PC driver to read HP 64000 5 1/4" floppy disks. about 20 years
ago.
The good new is they should be in our backups from 20+ years ago. Basically
it
was a simple file transfer program. I will have a look for it if you still
need .
Contact me off line.
