Greetings.
I have been using MSP430-gdb on linux succesfully with the MSP430F149
chip. However when I use the MSP430F169 chip the device is not
recognised and the "erase" command does not work.
Other commands work OK eg "load" and "continue"

Does anyone have any idea how AVR and MSP430 compare in terms of floating
point and integer math? We need to do some computational number crunching
(preprocessing) in our devices but aren't sure which of the above to pick.
The MSP430 is 16 bits so it should be faster in math it seems to me, but...MSP430 GDB problem.

I'm not sure this is the appropriate forum for this query but I haven't
been able to find a forum dedicated to the MSP430 port of GDB.
I am using msp430-gdb GNU gdb 5.1.1 Code is compiled with msp430-gcc
version 3.3 debugging options are enabled.

I have installed the MSP-FET430UIF and it work correctly with IAR
interface.

Hi, I'm new here. I'm italian and so my english is not very

I have need to program MSP430F2121 (28 pin, 4KB, UART) using BSL
(Bootstrap Loader) controlled by PC. By Visual Basic 6, I'm be able to
driver RS232 (TX, RX, RTS, and DTR) and I'm be able to communicate to

What I mean by a software emulator is, an application that runs on a
desktop/laptop where some favor of MSP430 code can be run and tested,
as if it was running on the actual chip.

Its the round PCB with a MSP430FG439 processor and an LCD display.

I have been using msp430-gdb on Linux via the Flash Emulation Tool and
gdbproxy. It works fine with the MSP430F149 member of the processor
family, but if I use the MSP430F169 chip, gdbproxy doesn't recognize the
type and gives the following message.

I cannot use the MSP430 ROM BSL, because the custom board, already in
production, has a connector with the UARTs signals (not the hw BSL
signals), and we cannot make hardware changes (it is a pity we cannot
configure the hw BSL signals).

I have an MSP430 and set the watchdog timer, however, when I cut power
off and return power, sometimes it'll reset, and sometimes it won't.

Hi,
I am using MSP430F1101 with a 32.768kHz crystal. I have 100 samples
fabricated but I find that 20% of them could not start. At the
beginning of the firmware, I have a loop to lock the DCO frequency to
2MHz using the external 32.768kHz as reference. I suspect the MSP430

Hi All,
I have this problem with my MSP430 controller. I want to use a 30
segment * 4 common LCD glass and use the rest of the pins as I/O.
The data sheet specifies 2 modes where in S0-S27 are LCD functions or
S0-S31 are LCD functions.
Is there a way of making S0 to S29 as LCD functions.
