Today is national Blog about the environment day. So, Cheers to the environment....
I guess its Hats off to Mr Gore for his Nobel prize. He certainly is a go-getter although I haven't seen his movie. Which gets me thinking, "why are Engineers so bad at persuasion?"
Just imagine the scientists behind Al Gore, giving him the thumbs up on each point. I can see them in the wings at that Indie Movie studio. Heat-bad, polar-cap-good. Why didn't those scientists go to Hollywood themselves? Imagine if they were connected to Hollywood like Mr Gore.
Imagine if Niels Bohr the inventor of atom-stuff had access to George Lucas, or suppose Linus Torvalds had access to Stephen King, or perhaps Stephen Hawking having lunch with Bart Simpson ("D'oh!" ).
Which reminds me of a joke I saw on 49up. Q: How can you spot an extraverted engineer? A: He's the one staring at your shoes instead of his own....
Lets face it, Engineers will work on any skill except persuasion, myself included. We write it down and "hope they come". I have a whole book of ideas that usually come to life, but not by me. I don't live in San Jose, rather Tennessee. The Venture Capitalists have a saying in Tennessee. In Tennessee, you can't raise money unless you can eat, drink, smoke or drive an idea.
So I guess a nano-diet idea might work. I should work on that.
