Hi all, I have a picstart 16B, which programs 16C84's, I was wondering if I can use it to program the 16F84 ??? I emailed Microchip, and they just said to buy a new programmer, not really an option for someone who is a pensioner (at age 26 due to poor health) I seem to remember an article that said all you needed was to change a few options and it could work, but I can not find the page I was looking at (not that it specifically mentioned the picstart 16B) Regards, Kat. |

I don't know the Picstart 16B but do have a Picstart Plus which programs lots of devices. I seem to remember using the 'Tate' programmer to program both devices with no changes, which is another option and very cheap if you can make one. Ask Microchip if the Programming spec is the same. cheers, Geoff |
