PIC part Number? - yagna713 - Jun 16 15:12:20 2008

Am a newbie to PICs and to this forum.

My new hobby is to make a pendulum clock. In one of the sites i could
get the PIC circuit without mentioning the PIC part no. The circuit is
as follows.
Pin 1 to +ve voltage, Pins 2& 8 are to -Ve. Pin 7 & 5 connected to a
coil (say coil 1). Pin 6 connected to an another coil (say coil 2)
through a resistor and the other end of coil to -ve supply.
Coil 1 is to drive the clock motor(same as quartz clock without all
the electronics) and coil 2 is to drive the pendulum.
Could somebody tell me the part no. of the PIC.
many thanks in advance.

Do you have a link to the circuit?

If there is access to the code on the website and it is not in a hex file, this will tell you the pic part number.

Re: PIC part Number? - Michael Harpe - Jun 23 8:02:26 2008

If the design is old, say from 10 years ago or more, a good first guess would be a PIC16x84 variant. The early PICs were all OTP parts. The 16x84 was the part a lot of people used.
