Re: The BotShop Customer Receipt/Purchase Confirmation - dldl...@aol.com - Aug 1 21:43:11 2008

Jesica at The Bot Shop,
I purchased an OOpic-C chip and board from you in November of 07.
Through no fault of yours the product did not work as advertised. I thought and
OOpic tech support thought that it was a hardware problem. You were kind enough
to replace it for me. Then we found out it was really the compiler. Savage
promised a fix by May 08. Now it is August 08 and Savage industries just sent
the OOpic forum the following comments:

2 - All previous version of ooPic ie. S,R and C will be considered
> > legacy products at this time and will no longer be manufactured.
In

As I write this Ted is on the forum trying to do some double speak about how
they have to abandon these products because they just don't sell anymore.
They only sold two in July.
I don't expect you to bad mouth any product or company I know that's bad
business, But for the customers sake would you please have anybody that is
thinking about choosing between a OOpic and something else to please read the
OOpic forum on Yahoo to get a clear picture of the kind of support that they
will get.
Thank you again for your help David Davis

Re: The BotShop Customer Receipt/Purchase Confirmation - theo570 - Aug 1 21:57:43 2008

David there is no double speak at all as you put it. It is simply a
matter of economics.

If you would have read all of my posts I did state I will try and get
SS to look into oEvents again if nothing else to put the compiler to
bed happy.

Jessica as The Bot Shop has been a great outlet for SI/ooPic and
still is until she states differently. Yes, she has excellent CS and
Yes we have crappy CS. We can get better, thats where I get to come
in. Try to put out fires before they burn. Jessica was the first and
still first listed outlet for the ooBug because of her efforts and
CS. She will be a retailer for the ooBug until I see a letter or
email from her stating otherwise.

If we just can't do it for you then we are sorry. We will try and
make the next guy happy.

Re: The BotShop Customer Receipt/Purchase Confirmation - jesicaflow - Aug 2 13:22:19 2008

I am probably closing down The BotShop due to this whole mess. New
guy has been miserable to deal with. I have completed unpaid projects
and started new ones (which I am no longer working on) only to have
them hijacked and/ or bastardized by him. I'm over it just as much
as the customers are.

I'm so sorry you guys are having to deal with this frustration.

Re: The BotShop Customer Receipt/Purchase Confirmation - theo570 - Aug 4 12:32:50 2008

OK Jess,

You are going to try and bring this public and so far I have resisted
but what the hell, even I get mad after awhile.

1 - The Bot Shop was in trouble (by your own words via phone) LONG
before I was offered a partnership in SI.

2 - "New guy" and "this guy"? Is that to give the public the
impression that we have not worked together off and on for say 5
maybe 6 years?

3 - We didn't seem to miserable when we were laughing and joking at
Scotts expense a few months ago on the phone.

4 - Anything you claim unpaid was before me becoming a partner so how
does that fit? Actually it goes back to the partnership with Pentar...

5 - None of your graphics were hijacked because none were selected
for use. You did make a killer blister pack art package,
unfortunately we are not using a blister pack. If we were, we would
be using it. I did call Gates and nope, no one ever agreed to pay for
that if it was unused.

6 - the umm 1986 web design... LOL IT IS YOUR WORK. Yes we will
indeed change it as the new one is about done. I don't think we can
claim that one unpaid and we both know why... let that dog sleep.

7 - Yea, I know you are pissed that the EDU board did not sell thus
your manual did not get used. We can't help it if a product was a
dismal flop. What did we sell, 10 - 15. I know there are over a
hundred in stock for the last year. You are not the only one not
getting paid on the EDU board. I spent 6 months trying to find a
vendor or a school to buy them... Do keep in mind the SI EDU board
was in the works way before I even brought the ooBug to the table and
even then I thought it was a silly product, almost a backstep if you
will. I never expected it to sell and said as much to SI and Pentar.

8 - It was just a few months ago when you and I had a long phone call
and most of the topic was the failing of TBS. Did I not offer you all
of my ooBug mod kit ideas and did I not agree to not sell them myself
if it would help YOU out?

Jess, you are acting like someone dropped you and it just never
happened. Do not take out your frustrations on me because you are
having business financial woes. We have been e or phone friends for
quite awhile.

Re: The BotShop Customer Receipt/Purchase Confirmation - tinslwc - Aug 4 14:19:41 2008

This should not be posted in a public forum. There is nothing
beneficial to the OOPIC community here. It is quite obivious that we
are all frustrated. Savage has said that he will fix the oEvent for
us which is the main thing that we wanted.

So, why don't we get this forum back to helping people with problems
that we can fix and keep the politics to a minimum. We have people
here with years of knowledge and when we collaborate, we can do
anything.

Re: The BotShop Customer Receipt/Purchase Confirmation - theo570 - Aug 4 15:10:16 2008

I whole heartedly agree! I really did not want to make that post but
the dog can only lay in the shade getting kicked for so long. ooPic
problems I can handle, SI problems I can handle but when it starts to
get personal I bite back.

Now that we can start to move along... I am looking for content for
the all new and improved SI Robot Projects website. I need blurbs and
pics of any and all ooPic, Soundgin etc based projects. I do hope the
users community has something. Your projects do not need to be robots
by common definition, just simply ooPic based circuits are cool. If
you can try to include source code. Please post under the topic of
ROBOT PROJECTS so I can find em' easily.

Thanks,

Ted

Re: The BotShop Customer Receipt/Purchase Confirmation - tinslwc - Aug 4 16:02:03 2008

How about a web-enabled OOPic. I have a setup that gives the OOPic a
web front end with bi-directional communication. I have a custom PCB
laid out for this application. It is about the size of the S-Board
and contains all of the required hardware, including a homemade
multiplexer for the RS232.

Ted, if you REALLY didn't want to make that post, you should delete
it since you KNOW you were lying and further causing damage to a
company that has up until this point, been nothing but supportive.
