We have recently released a board and book combo. This book assumes
that you are familiar with C, and are comfortable with looking up
register settings for yourself, but assumes no knowledge of the MSP430.

This book is written for our ES2274 board, but can be used with any
MSP430. Since you are starting from scratch, you might as well get the
board the book was written for.

The book is formatted as a series of tutorial chapters. Each chapter
ends with solved exercises, so in about two weeks you will have a
pretty high level of expertise for that short period of time.
