Yes, It is possible.
In fact you can complete Linux with x-window and KDE, and moreover you can
install grub which will load linux, windowXP and Solaris, on P89V51RD2.
Good Luck ;-(

This is all very good news! I will have a go at this since I need Oracle and Apache. Do you think that I will need more than the 16K internal RAM?

Apache is included in Linux, for oracle you may need two C51 ;-)
BTW C51 has 128 /1024 byes of ram.

Try Oracle's other product, MySQL, which I believe they purchased Sun for in
order to fit better on lower-performance hardware. So you could fit MySQL
onto that '51. As we all know the 8051 is a big market, so it's a wise move
on Oracle's part.

For lower performance hardware . keep an eye on Drizzle!

If you are a troll, you are aiming the wrong side of 'just believable'. If your post is a genuine request for help with running Linux on C51/2129, don't hold your breath waiting for technical tips.

Yes - I was thinking of the 2129 which has 16 times more RAM - perhaps with that I can then run Linux distros under VMware.
