Comunication with RF Antenna - dani...@amberjacksolutions.com - Mar 13 8:44:09 2009
Hello guys.
I would like to know if you can suggest me any antenna for exterior to work with
basicx24?
specifications:
- 400m range minimum;
- Resistant to humidity (because the place has and high level of humidity)
Let me thank you in advance for your time.

What is the FREQUENCY of the transmitter and what are the limitations of the
antenna installation? Do you need a: 50' tower? 6" of wire? 8 element
Yagi?

The frequency is 433MHz, 868MHz or 2,4GHz.
The antenna will be fixed at a refuge house's roof, 9600bps or less, preferably 12V power,
4m cable between the electronic and the antenna, about the cost, I don't have conscience
about antenna prices, so I'm open to all suggestions.
Those are all the specifications I can give you because I don't have many knowledge on
this area.

Can anyone please suggest some antenna or a company that sells anything with the
specifications that I gave to you at the last post?
regards

All antennas meet the requirements below, however, the transmitter and
receiver would limit the distance the antennas are usable over. The antenna
cover, or radome, may not be able to handle high humidity, but until
antennas are made out of water soluble metal, the antenna itself will be
fine.

Hello Everybody,
I am interested by everything related to the BX-24 family and for this post, I do not see
the relation between our subject BX-24 controler and the communication with RF Antenna.
If anybody could explain me .
Best Regards to all.
Patrick.

The original poster most likely wants to send data from a BX-24 to another
BX-24 over an RF link. He asked about an antenna, but provided no details
of the requirments other than "400m range minimum; Resistant to humidity"
which all antennas are. Details were asked, no details given, so the
original posters best solution at this point is to try a resonant paperclip,
an inexpensive solution that can usually be found in a parking lot, for an
antenna rather than pour funding into a total unknown.

To the original poster:
You have many options at several suppliers. To get you started, visit
SparkFun. Maybe
http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=8946 and
its mate. Linx is another source. Antennas, for example:
http://www.linxtechnologies.com/Products/Antennas/ .
Look at XBee, too. http://www.digi.com/
