RE:a USB GPS to a BX-24 - Victor Fraenckel - Apr 26 10:09:15 2007

Jacques,

I have done this with the ZX-24 which is a superset of the BX-24. The
key is to get a GOOD USB to Serial converter. I USE this one:

http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=718

or this one:

http://www.zbasic.net/Interface-Kits/USB-TTL-Serial-Converter/p-42.html

which is from Elba Corp, the maker of the ZX-24. Both of these
converters use the excellent FTDI FT232 chip. If you go this route, be
sure to go the the FTDI site and get the latest drivers for the chip. I
also use the Elba board to download software into my ZX-24 apps with NO
problems.

HTH

Victor,

I'm confused. Did you use the FT232RL USB to Serial Breakout board
between your PC and the ZX24 or between the ZX24 and a USB GPS device?

If the latter, how'd you do it?

Thx,
Paul
