alternative EEPROM for the BX35 - mlcarter78 - Dec 15 17:11:00 2002

I have the BX35 running nicely with the Basicx supplied AT25256-27PC
EEprom. I would like to source a less expensive chip. The -27PC does
not appear on any of the major supplier sites or even the Atmel
site ! Will the at25256-10PC/PI work. The -10PC indicates a faster
responding chip to the -27PC ?? It would seem therefore that it
should be fine ?
Thank You for any comments

I think that Atmel leaves a bit off the marking of the chip. The 2.7
refers to the voltage operating range.

Thus an AT25256-10PI has an operating range of 4.5 - 5.5 VDC. I use
this with the BX35 and have had no problems.

The AT25256-10PI-2.7 operates from 2.7 to 5.5 VDC. Useful if the
Atmel processor and other circuitry will operate at voltages
appreciably lower than 5.0 VDC which I doubt.
