I'm using a BX-35 that I want to migrate from the development board to a dedicated circuit board. The only circuit diagram I can find in the docs for how to connect up the BX-35 with a serial connection for COM1 is the circuit diagram for the development board. (I might be blind... but I can't find anything else...) Am I right in assuming that I need to connect up serial port lines via various inverters through a 74HC04 chip? Has anyone a simpler circuit diagram? tx (in advance!) Andy |

This weekend I decided to tackle the BX35 and the only schematic I found was the one you mention. I built up a number of proto systems which appears at http://www.phanderson.com/basicx/BX35.html Inverters are required on the Tx and Rx leads. On the PC Tx there is a series 100K to protect the inverter from the negative voltage normally present on the PC Tx lead. There was an error on this schematic which showed the ATN lead as being term 16. It should be terminal 2. Send me e-mail at e-mail pha(at)phanderson.com and I will e-mail you a scan of my schematic in .pcx format. Peter H. Just to add to Peter Anderson's response, also check out: http://www.basicx.com/Products/BX-35/BX35_Schematic.gif Also, I'm happy to say the broken links have been fixed on the BX-35 page: http://www.basicx.com/Products/BX-35/bx35main.htm -- Frank Manning -- NetMedia, Inc. |
