For users of the Atmel AT91SAM7 and AT91SAM9 ARM CPU chips. Atmel has taken a new direction by combining on chip flash and ram with the ARM CPU on a single die. This provides low cost devices for small systems using the ARM CPU. This group is to exchange information to help users get started and learn how to use the devices.

Hi Andrew,
Try changing the J2 setting, "Force Power On".
Looks like your power circuit was not started.

Good luck

Subject: [AT91SAM] AT91SAM9263-EK will not power-up

I got the AT91SAM9263-EK in this morning and have not worked with Atmel
before. I verified the jumper settings as per the welcome.html from the
Atmel CD and they all were as described. I plugged in the power and the
power LED did not activate, the EK is as if there is no power.

The power supply sent from Atmel is +12V out and I checked with a Fluke
116 multimeter: it is outputting 12.1V

I connected the power to the EK and the female on the board is showing
12.1V as well. This has to be a jumper setting issue (I hope) and not
that I have to return the EK to Atmel for another.

Can someone please help me? I want to get into working with the new
development environment and can do nothing.

Regards,
Andrew

Re: AT91SAM9263-EK will not power-up - Andrew Brimer - Nov 19 8:22:41 2009

Thank you so very much Weiguo,

I now have the board up and running. I had concerns regarding a forced power on and needed to hear from someone more experienced than I. Can I now open J2, or can it remain closed? Thank you again for the help, now I can get started on getting the operating system tuned.

Regards,
Andrew
