For users of the Atmel AT91SAM7 and AT91SAM9 ARM CPU chips. Atmel has taken a new direction by combining on chip flash and ram with the ARM CPU on a single die. This provides low cost devices for small systems using the ARM CPU.
This group is to exchange information to help users get started and learn how to use the devices.
Re: Trouble in SAM-BA programming - bhavintailor_ec - Aug 19 23:53:52 2008
Hi,
First of all erase your chip by using erase pin. Now to load boot
loader i think there is no requirement to use TST pin. I m using
AT91SAM7x512. This controller is also new for me. In starting i was
using TST pin to load boot loader. But now i m not using TST pin to
load boot loader. I m using same version SAM-BA. To use SAM-BA there
is no requirement of "Pull-up on PA0/1/2". Just make sure that
crystal of 18.432 MHz.
Now to enumerate your CPU, before power-up dont pluge your USB cable
to your hardware.
--> First of all erase your chip.
--> Switched off supplay to your hardware.
--> If u have plugged USB cable in your hardware then remove it.
--> Switched on supplay to your hardware.
--> Plugged USB cable in your hardware.
--> Now, open SAM-BA.
--> If your hardware is configured (properly enumerated)in PC then
in connection of SAM-BA u will get other option with usb.
I think above steps will help u lot.

Hi,
thanks for your help but I read something about AT91SAM7X programming
before, programming of this controller is different from 7S.It doesn't
need using test pin.And I'm sure that 7S needs Pull-up on PA0/1/2
according to datasheet.

I use voltage of USB cable instead of power supply, but I try using
another power supply, and erased my chip before using test pin they
were not useful!
