Trouble with connecting MicroBDM12SX+ to ADAPT9S12NE64 - deniz_kerimoglu - Apr 12 13:32:12 2008
Hi everyone. In my final project I was supposed to port uC/OS-II to
MC9S12E128. So I did it last week & now I am supposed work on port of
uIP to ADAPT9S12NE64. Actually I perform some trails with the uBug12
without uBDM12SX+ and I floaded the sample example. But when I have
tried to use NoICE it could not connect to the uBDM12SX+.
Then I saw that when uBDM12SX+ is connected to ADAPT9S12NE64 only
power on led is green. When I push the reset button I see to action in
the TX led. I am supposed to a insant TX Led when I hit the reset
button. But I DO NOT. And I know the uBDM12SX+ is working. So may be
the problem is with the logic level of the ADAPT9S12NE64(3.3V).
uBDM12SX+ spec says it only works with 5V operation mode. But the
electrical spec says logic is not configurable. What am I to do??? Go
and by another BDM?
Regards.

I think Noice can just connect to the serial monitor the same way
uBug12 did. Why not try it using the serial port?

Well if you have to buy a BDM, save your self some money and buy a
DEMO9S08QE8 fro mouser. It has a full P&E BDM and will work with 5 or 3v.
Cost is 34.00 from mouser.

Well actually I managed to see ADAPT9S12NE64 from NoICE but I could
not load any *.dbg file. All I need is to do C level debuging and it
seems that MicroBDM12SX+ does not support ADAPT9S12NE64 for debugging.
Even its power on led is not as bright as when I connect it to
ADAPT9S12E128.
How can I debug in C level???
Thanks for you attention.

This forum isn't the appropriate place to do NoICE tech support, but
feel free to contact me directly.
It would be useful to have
* the error message that NoICE gives you when you try to load the dbg.
* the dbg file, so that I can see if there is something in it
that might cause NoICE digestive difficulties...

9S12NE64 is a 3V chip. MicroBDM12SX is a 5V pod. You need
MicroBDM12LX instead.
