Thanks very much for the info. It would also help to know what type of plastic is used for chip covers. Might it be a special variation of
ABS. If so, maybe a blob of ABS plumbing glue might fuse, chemicaly react, with the chip surface.

White glue is easily dissolved. It is water soluble.
Laser marking are, by design, very difficult to obscure. Even if you
think it is off, there are enchants that can restore it.
I recommend this epoxy:

It is a very hard to remove.
